Vegan Nutella

I absolutely love a chocolate spread but even the vegan options out there always seem to have added oils and cane sugar so if you have the chance to make your own is far healthier and super delicious.  If you own a powerful blender  you can make your own hazelnut butter by lightly roasting the hazelnuts in the oven, let them cool down and then blend them till they start to form a butter like texture. Otherwise you can buy it already made (I have linked here the one I bought) all you have to do is mix with raw cacao powder and agave syrup. You can also add a pinch of salt for extra flavour. It’s so delicious and creamy I sometimes eat a cheeky spoon or two straight out of the jar.

Ingredients

  • 180g Hazelnut Butter
  • 2tbsp Agave syrup (40g )
  • 1tbsp Raw Cacao Powder (8g)
  • Optional: little sprinkle of salt

Method

  1. Gently mix the hazelnut butter with the raw cacao powder and once it’s well mixed you can add the agave syrup and a little dust of salt if you want and mix well again. This lasts for a few months, though if you prefer a more runny texture you can add some water, however it wont conserve as long but if you are like me and finish this delicious spread super quickly it’s not a problem.
