Lemon water is the best way to start your day! It has so many benefits to your body and I promise you that if you try it long enough you will actually feel so good with it that it will become your mantra.

This is probably the easiest detoxification method that we can include into our daily routine to help our bodies flushing out toxins. Our liver is the principle organ of detoxification and the lemon water will help to purify and stimulate it.

On a diet where people eat a lot of processed foods, added sugars and alcohol, the blood pH tends to be more acidic. Some believe that in an acidic environment it’s more likely to produce diseases and infections. By simply having water with a few drops of lemon, it will help alkalinize the body, preventing the multiplication and growth of pathogenic bacteria that causes disease and infections.

Lemons have a very high content of vitamin C, which is very important to strength your immune system, protecting you from cold and flu. Research has shown that vitamin C can also protect from cardiovascular issues, cancer, stroke and aiding in eye health.

If your not inspired by now I know this one will get you drinking lemon water straight away. The vitamin C content in lemons can also help to decrease wrinkles and blemishes, keeping your skin clear.

Drinking a cup of warm water with lemon in the morning before ingesting anything else stimulates the gastrointestinal tract loosening up toxins and other material in the digestive tract.

Another amazing benefit, because of the high content of pectin fibber in lemons, drinking lemon water can actually help fight off hunger cravings. Pectin has also been shown to reduce the amount of cholesterol being absorbed from food or bile.

With all this amazing benefits I hope I was able to inspire you to start drinking this juice from the Gods. It is important to use organic lemons, and purified, fluoride free water (filtered water) to gain the most benefits.

Warm Lemon water in the morning:

1 mug of warm water

Squeeze of half a lemon

Drink it with empty stomach


Lemon water throughout the day:

During the day I try to drink 2L of Lemon water (room temperature for faster absorption)

I use half a lemon per litre

Top Tip: Usually I don’t put any lemon slices in the water as I find it makes it bitter, even though it looks prettier.
